About

Franck was born in Dreux, France. A self-taught photographer, he built his first darkroom on the family farm as a form of escapism at the age of fourteen. While at this time, all of his work was analogue, it was here his fascination with how humans are connected to their environment came to the fore.

Since moving to London in 2001, Franck’s interest in how we inhabit shared spaces and interact with our immediate environment has deepened, and the majority of his personal work is born from the street. He constantly invites the viewer to revisit their surroundings and question habitual ceremonies. Weaving the familiar into a story is integral in Franck’s work, he compels us to question and re-evaluate the relationship we have with our surroundings. His work is an intimate visual dialogue of mundane yet extraordinary observations. Much of Franck’s photographic work has been exhibited as site-specific installations across London. He has also been invited to group/solo shows and more recently included in publications/lectures on the culture of contemporary Street Art.

Professionally, Franck has much experience in editorial, advertising and e-commerce. His work has featured in and on the covers of leading editorial publications, including The Guardian Weekend, The Observer, GQ, Glamour, Telegraph, The World of Interiors and House and Garden. Other professional clients include, TNCC, Cravendalel, Kingsmill, Volvic, Asos and Mallard Bassett

Franck’s work is vivacious and subliminally provocative. His is known for his sensitive, playful style and poetic balance. His ability to master technical challenges in lighting has become one of his hallmarks. With twenty years of experience working in the creative industry he has shown his professionalism in confidently and creatively interpreting briefs and inspired collaboration
